If you are looking for a new book to read, Septimus Heap by Angie Sage is a good series to look into.
Septimus Heap is an adventurous book series with many twists, surprises, and turns throughout the story. The series contains seven books entitled Magyk, Flyte, Physik, Quest, Syren, Darke, and Fyre. The series focuses on going through life with family and friends to help us through harsh circumstances.
The story is about a boy who was born into a wizarding family as the seventh son of his father, Silas, who was the seventh son of his own family. The boy’s name is Septimus, but shortly after he is born, he goes missing. The parents assume he is dead or gone forever
When Silas is on his way home to his wife, he finds the daughter of the dead queen, and a more powerful wizard asks him to protect the queen’s daughter. His father agrees and begins raising the queen’s daughter (Jenna) as his own.
Years later, the princess and the family find themselves in serious trouble, and they must leave the castle. They find shelter with their aunt and begin realizing the truth behind their family. Septimus is eventually found, but his character will surprise the readers. Once they know the truth, they find themselves having serious problems with the more powerful wizards, and realize they have to learn how to use their magic to help them out of their mess.
As the series progresses, the family finds themselves having more trouble, but they find ways to get out of it by working together and trusting each other.
This story is filled with twists that will surprise and shock the readers. One interesting aspect of the series is the author’s infatuation with the number seven. In the book, there are small hints that revolve around the number. Sage finds ways to hide small details that may seem unimportant at the time but end up affecting the ending of the story.
Septimus must complete dangerous missions throughout the series, but with the help of those that are close to him, it becomes easier. With close attention, these small details may be found. If you enjoy reading books with adventure and mystery, this is a great series for you!
