Students enrolled in Cascade’s Jobs for Montana’s Graduates (JMG) course traveled to the state capital on October 30 for their annual LEAD Conference.
The students who attended were Daniel Benefiet, Walker Dooley-Cislo, Kyle Evans, Jay Hickam, Shelton Hilkey, Shelbie Jackson, Kyle Leveque, Kolton Lynn, Alexis Marko, Kaitlyn Wade, and Mackenzie Wombold.
“It was a very good experience and very busy,” said junior Shelbie Jackson. “I learned to make good eye contact.”
The event lasted for most of the school day.
“I think that the kids had a blast and learned a lot of skills that they can use,” said JMG adviser Estelle Whitman. “There was a big turnout as well.”
Whitman’s favorite part of the trip was when everyone sang the John Denver classic Country Roads.
They mainly learned how to use their body language and eye contact to improve their non-verbal communication skills.
