It’s hard to believe, but the volleyball season is already winding down for the Lady Badgers.  They continue to improve and hope for a spot at the divisional tournament in Chinook later this month.

On September 29, the Lady Badgers headed off to play the Centerville Miners. The game was very slow paced with lots of volleys going back and forth, but the Badgers managed to walk away with a win. Cascade won the first two games before letting the Miners back in the match with a 2-2 tie.  Fortunately, the ladies pulled through in the fifth and final game.

Senior captain Ashtyn Schlotter who plays middle for the Lady Badgers stated, “We didn’t play our best game of the year, but we will push forward and focus on the games ahead.”

Stats

Digs: Raija Buley 15, Kaicey Oliver 13

On September 30, the Lady Badgers headed to Fort Benton bright and early for the Mid Season tourney, playing their first game at 8:30 against Great Falls Central Catholic.  In this tournament, the girls first played everyone in their pool before being reseeded for tournament play.

The girls started out playing GFCC loosing 25-20 and 25-23. Then with a game in between them they played the Chinook Sugarbeeters loosing this pool play game also. They ended with a score of 25-22, and 25-19. Next, the Badgers came out strong against the Augusta Elks, winning 25-15 and 25-16.

After pool play was over, the girls were bracketed into the tournament, where they played the Power Pirates first. The Badgers defeated Power Pirates in a best 2 out of 3 game. After beating the Pirates, the Badgers played the Highwood-Geraldine Lady Rivals, but by the end of the day, our girls were worn out and tired and sadly lost in two.

Senior Kaicey Oliver who plays middle for the Lady Badgers stated, “We played well for having to be up and on the bus by 6:45. We still have things to work on, but we are getting there.”

Stats

Digs: Ashtyn Schlotter 11, Kaicey Oliver 10
